Presidential Campaign Websites in Spanish: 08/01/2019 Edition

From July 30 - August 1, the homepages of almost 30 individuals running for President were examined. In most cases, candidates included a link to content in Spanish. In 6 cases, candidates did not include a link to on the main homepage to content in Spanish.

A quick skim of the English and Spanish versions of each candidate's homepage reveals that content appears to mirror one another. There were a few noticeable exceptions. In particular, Representative Tulsi Gabbard's Spanish and English language main focus content differed.

Another candidate utilizing different imagery is Mayor Wayne Messam.

Former Representative Beto O'Rourke's English and Spanish language homepages appeared more similar to one another prior to the Democratic debates. In early July, his homepage centered on a photo of him speaking. Prior to the Democratic Debates held on July 30 - 31, a new "Plans" section appeared. Following former Representative Beto O'Rourke's debate appearance, the top section of his English language homepage was updated while the Spanish version remained unchanged.

Representative Seth Moulton's site looks to have a broken image on the Spanish version of his main page. Clicking the right arrow in each case launches an English language video. The videos are not the same.
